What to Expect from Ironhack's Career Services
Our approach focuses on not just landing you a job, but finding a job that's aligned with your long-term goals.
Your dream job is our shared endgame. But we know that you're (probably) not going to walk straight into it on graduation day. Our goal is to help you understand the reality of the tech job market and understand your ideal career path. At this stage, you'll go through a series of introspective exercises to gain a better idea of what that looks like, taking into account who you are and what matters most to you. Once we've created this vision of where you want to be, we'll map out your path. You'll gain a better understanding of which types of jobs will help you achieve your long-term career goals.
To further your career development, you'll learn how to navigate the online jobs market and build your digital profiles. We'll offer guidance on how to build your LinkedIn profile, resume, portfolio, and/or pitch, reviewing them at the end to make sure you have the best tools for starting the job search.
This is the warm-up before the job hunt! This stage involves a full week of workshops, webinars, and challenges designed to train and improve your job searching skills. You'll learn the ins-and-outs of job hunting, applying, and interviewing and hear from a variety of experts in your field of interest, as well as tech HR experts, to give you a full 360 view of what's up in tech right now.
After the warm-up, it's game time! Throughout the job search, you'll receive constant personalized guidance from your Career Coach. As well as regular email communication with your Career Coach, you'll have access to 1-on-1s to break down blockers or conduct mock interviews. We know how frustrating the job search can be, so we make sure you're not left to your own devices and feel supported so long as you're actively hunting for a position.
As an extra boost to your search, we'll share your student profile with our network of Hiring Partners, many of whom have already bolstered their tech teams with Ironhack talent! We can also put you in touch with other Ironhack alumni who are working in the same field that you're aiming to get into, so you can learn from their experience.
We can do all of this, but at the end of the day your job-hunt success depends on you. Our Career Coaches will be holding you accountable to help you stay on track, and we can provide the tools to be successful in the market. But the effort, consistency, and motivation...that all has to come from you!
