Take the first steps of your UX/UI Design journey by learning the basics of design thinking, interaction design and state-of-the-art design software. After setting up your tools and completing the introductory exercises, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running during bootcamp. During prework, you will create your first usability evaluation and site redesign, as well as develop your design sensitivity in a number of engaging activities. You will also be introduced to the basics of HTML and CSS, which is an essential foundation for the bootcamp’s design implementation section.

You'll first learn the fundamentals of UX design: applying design thinking in conjunction with lean and agile methodologies. Understanding these cornerstones of UX is essential to landing a job in the tech industry. Next, you will learn the principles of user-centered design as well as how to organize and conduct research to discover user needs and meet business goals. By sharpening your skills in interaction design and information architecture, you’ll be forming the foundation to build any kind of product you can imagine. It won’t be all theory.

By the end of the module you'll be ready to manage your first Product Design project. You will discover who your users are, how to empathize with them, and then plan a creative and innovative product roadmap to solve their problems. You'll polish it off with some guerilla user-testing, and present to your cohort.

Next you'll learn branding and design fundamentals for UI close-loop design, advocating for the users’ needs from inception to production. Master design systems to create engaging, elegant and scalable user experiences. Every design decision breeds a deeper understanding of the end-to-end production cycle of digital products.

In this module's project, you'll utilize all the skills you’ve built up to create a state-of-the-art website design with engaging animations and a refined style. Not only will you cultivate your visual design and workflow skills, but you’ll also document the entire process to ensure a smooth hand-off to development. Everything you need to hit the ground running when you land your first official UX/UI Designer role!

During the final module, you will learn how to implement your designs in real life. Gain confidence with UI developers’ best practices by preparing all the correct assets and building your first responsive one-page website. There will even be time dedicated to soft skills, such as how to fine-tune your portfolio and connect with clients.
Your final project will be your greatest, but most rewarding challenge. Each campus partners with local companies to set real-world problems before our students. But you also have the choice to bring your own brief if there's a problem you've been itching to solve! At the end of the bootcamp, you and your classmates will present your projects at the Hackshow. The audience picks a winner, and you all celebrate making it through your bootcamps and becoming job-ready for your new careers in tech!
