You’re always up for a challenge

No day in the tech sector will ever be boring; from new cyber threats to innovative tools that will help your job be easier, you’ll always be faced with something new to learn or improve upon and this will help your interest in your field, as well as your drive, stay consistently high. In addition, since there will always be something new to add to your repertoire, you’ll be well-suited for new opportunities or promotions as they arise.

You’re creative

As we’ve been mentioning, tech roles aren’t linked exclusively to numbers and coding and creativity is actually an incredibly valuable skill in the tech field, even outside of fields like UX/UI design. With new barriers popping up constantly and new problems to tackle, creativity in both your projects and your problem-solving skills will help propel your career further.

You have a degree in tech–or not

One of the most incredible things about the tech industry is that it’s moving so fast that new skills are needed, not just those that were taught in university classrooms years ago. So if you’re interested in tech but not sure if entering the field is practical because you don’t have a degree, don’t fret: more and more companies are opening their doors to self-taught or bootcamp-educated applicants who have the right skills.

You’re a team player

An absolutely essential part of working in the tech field is being a good team player as you’ll definitely be placed on a team with professionals with all different kinds of specialties that play an essential role in the project pipeline. You want to do good

If this is a priority for you, then the tech industry is the right fit.

You’re interested in flexible work arrangements

Few fields offer the flexibility that tech does; from full or part time to remote or in-person (or hybrid!), or the possibility to simply make your own schedule around your personal life, the tech field is known for its flexibility. And if you’re really interested in moving around, life as a digital nomad could be the right choice.

You want options in your career path

Making a decision of where you want to spend the rest of your life working isn’t really a reality in the tech field; with the rush of new technologies being introduced constantly and new branches popping up, you’ll be able to pivot into new areas easily once you have a solid background in tech.

You want to be on the forefront of innovation

Knowing that you’re working on the next big tool or something that can truly transform lives provides a rush that few industries can match. In the tech sector, however, you’ll be on the forefront of innovation and play a crucial role in releasing new tech tools to the world–all while doing what you love.

You want job stability
